1. OXO Good Grips Salad Chopper and Bowl
This genius salad chopper and bowl combo has transformed how I get my veggies in. Before, salads were cumbersome to eat --- lots of chewing and messy with all the different sizes of the ingredients. Enter the OXO Good Grips salad chopper. The stainless steel blades effectively slice up your greens, veggies, fruit, and more into small, uniform pieces for easy and more pleasurable consumption. Perfect for all the #BAS (Big Ass Salad) lovers in your life. I just wish I could take this to restaurants…
2. Salad Love: Crunchy, Savory, and Filling Meals You Can Make Every Day by David Bez
This tome of 260 salad combos is the perfect accompaniment to the OXO salad chopper mentioned above! From the Amazon description:
Determined to eat more vegetables for lunch, David Bez embarked on a personal challenge to create one new salad every day using seasonal, healthy ingredients. In Salad Love, he shares his favorite recipes from his yearlong experience.
Crunchy, savory, and incredibly satisfying, these salads go beyond your typical combination of lettuce, protein, and toppings to create vibrant, plant-based meals that offer something for every palate. In summer, try Oak-Smoked Cheddar, Peaches, and Blueberries; for fall, savor hearty Roast Chicken, Quinoa, Red Pepper, and Peanuts; in winter, fuel up with Ham, Roasted Potatoes, Carrots, and Dried Cranberries; and in spring, enjoy Egg, Asparagus, Croutons, and Pecorino.
I'm drooooooling over here...

6. Deskbound: Standing Up to a Sitting World by Kelly Starret, Juliet Starrett, and Glen Cardoza
$23.42 on Amazon
From the Amazon description:
Sitting can wreak havoc on your health, and not just in the form of minor aches and pains. Recent studies show that too much sitting contributes to a host of diseases—from obesity and diabetes to cancer and depression. The typical seated office worker suffers from more musculoskeletal injuries than those workers who do daily manual labor. The facts are in: sitting literally shortens your life (even if you work out regularly!)
In this groundbreaking book, Dr. Kelly Starrett—renowned physical therapist and strength coach—unveils a detailed battle plan for surviving our chair-centric society. Deskbound provides creative solutions for reducing the amount of time you spend perched on your backside, as well as strategies for transforming your desk into a dynamic, active workstation that can improve your life. You'll learn how to:
Easily identify and fix toxic body positions
Eradicate back, neck, and shoulder pain
Mitigate carpel tunnel syndrome forever
Organize and stabilize your spine and trunk
Walk, hinge, squat, and carry with peak skill
Perform daily body maintenance work using 14 mobility templates for resolving pain and increasing range of motion
Whether your goal is to maximize your performance in or out of the workplace, lose weight, or simply live pain-free, Deskbound will work for you.
This book has been so helpful for me and my husband (who, like me, works from home, and also drives a lot) to work through our aches and pains. Highly recommend getting one for yourself as well. Seriously, $23 for something that can help keep you out of the doctor's and physical therapist's office? It's a no-brainer. And this pairs perfectly with the lacrosse ball and foot roller I mentioned in Part 1 (stocking stuffers) of this series.
