Last Minute Fit Gift Guide.  Like, Really Last Minute.

Becky WilliamsUncategorized

There are not many more shopping days left till Christmas — only 6 left according to the electronic holiday countdown sign I pass by every day on my way to the gym.  Gah!  I get hit with a wave of mild panic every time.  I don’t have that many gifts to buy, but the ones that I do have to buy are for people who are notoriously difficult to shop for.  😛  I’m sure you can relate.

To save you from the stress that you’re surely feeling right now over gifts yet to be purchased, I’ve compiled a last minute gift guide for all the fit peeps on your list for Christmas, birthdays, and any time of the year.

Fashletics Jewelry.   $10 and up
fashletics.com

For a truly unique gift for that fit female in your life, check out the fitness-themed jewelry line from Fashletics.  Choose your charms from motivational sayings like “Believe” and “I Choose Strength” and dumbbells, barbells, kettlebells, and sneakers.  Choose your chain, and you’re good to go.

This was my go-to client gift this year, and it was a big hit.

The Stick 19-inch.  $34.95  amazon.com
http://amzn.to/1uQAnxv

I’ve used The Stick for over 7 years to ease muscle soreness in those hard-to-stretch and foam roll areas like the muscles on the shin, calf, and mid-low back.  It’s a godsend for those days when the DOMS is raging but you still need to train (and function!).

Fitbit Flex Wireless Activity + Sleep Tracker.  $89.99
amazon.com
http://amzn.to/1yX0h4Z

This cool gadget tracks steps, distance, and calories burned, showing you how you stack up against your goals.  It also tracks your sleep cycle to aid in getting a better night’s sleep, which is critical for recovery, as any fit chick knows.  Syncs up with your computer or smartphone for easy tracking.

Super Bands.  $8.95 and up
performbetter.com
http://bit.ly/1qJeYtN

I currently own the orange, red, and black bands, and those sizes/levels of resistance have served me well over the past year or so.

I like the continuous circular design over the ones with handles because they can also be used to assist with pull-ups (as shown in the pic, left).

Gaiam Print Premium Yoga Mat.  $29.99
amazon.com
http://amzn.to/1AkaeMc

A good durable mat can be used for more than just yoga — I use mine for all of my floor-based exercises.  It provides good grip and a thin layer of cushioning.  A must-have for any fit chick in training.

Flip Belt  $28.99  flipbelt.com

I first discovered this wonder of a belt at the Disney Princess Half Marathon expo earlier this year.  I gave it a whirl at the race the next day and it held up beautifully.  It stayed put around my hips for the full 13.1 miles, holding a ridiculous amount of items — my cellphone, lip balm, bandaids, 2 packets of Gu, earbuds, safety pins, cash, ID, Tylenol, and more.  I’ve continued to use my Flip Belt almost every day since in the gym.

It’s made of a machine-washable, stretchy Spandex-Lycra blend that moves with you no matter what your activity.  There are no zippers or clasps, just a simple tubular design with multiple openings to slip in your belongings.  Just flip the belt over so the openings are facing in, and nothing moves.  No chafing, no uncomfortable seams.  Antibacterial and odor resistant.  Comes in sizes XS-XL and several colors.

Sweatybands.  $15 and up
sweatybands.com

I love, love, LOVE these headbands!  They come in dozens of colors, patterns, and materials to suit any fit chick’s personal style.  And these suckers Do.  Not.  Budge.  Seriously.  I hate to have even a single hair in my face when I exercise, and these do the job with style.

TRX Suspension Trainer.  $199.95
trxtraining.com

The TRX suspension trainer is an all-in-one system that uses your bodyweight for a full body workout with an emphasis on the core muscles.  Easily portable, it can be set up anywhere — at home, at the gym, in a hotel room, even outside.  Yes, it’s on the pricier side, but it’s a solid investment that takes up nearly zero space in your home.  I use mine all the time with my own workouts and with clients.
